Jordana cosmetics is an US based brand and I have already reviewed 3 products from this very affordable brand here, here and here . I was not very happy with their Quick Liner for eyes but I have read some rave reviews on their Easy liners and their new 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil.
Like most other affordable US brands, like E.L.F, Milani, NYX etc, Jordana is also not easily available in Canada [Sighhhh]. A few items are available at local dollar stores and this is one I picked.
Easy Liner for Eyes is priced at 1.99 USD and is available in 13 shades.
My Experience:
This is an average product and I really don't have much to say on this. Pigmentation is not great but not bad either. Its all about perspective- after all, it is unfair to compare a $2 eyeliner's pigmentation to that of an Urban Decay or MAC.
This didn't tug on my eyelids but I cannot honestly say that it glided or was very creamy. My complaint with this one was it took some time to build up the color.
Also, staying power is average. It stayed for about 4 hours on my lid - but then my lids are naturally oily. I would suggest setting this with a powder.
There was no irritation, this is a retractable liner, so no worry on sharpening.
Overall: This is an okay eye pencil. I don't like it as much as I like my Essence 16 hr eye pencil but for $2, this is a nice to have option. They have some nice colors also.

Review and Swatches: FACES Cosmetics Lip Color in 11( Natalia) and 330 (Catherine)
I got these lipsticks from FACES store at Brookfield Mall in Coimbatore; I couldn't find these online in FACES Indian website or in any online store in India but these lipsticks were available through FACES cosmetics' Canada website. Anyways I got this for around INR 250-300 [dont remember exactly].
I liked the packaging of these lippies - such a change from the drab black cases. And these are smaller in size than many. The lip color applies very smoothly and provides full color in a single swipe. This lippies have a very unique finish - it is not all creamy, it is not all glossy, its somewhere in between.
I loved these lippies but unfortunately I found that I couldn't carry off these colors very easily. I cant explain why cos these are really lovely colors -but somehow I wore these very sheered out or layered under a more darker shade.
I wish I'd gotten at least one darker shade from this range. I am visiting Dufferin Mall here in Toronto soon, where FACES Cosmetics has a counter so may be if I find this I will get it.

Review and Swatches: Faces Canada Long Wear Eye Pencils in Dark Green, Aqua blue and Purple
Check these out at
FACES website here http://www.faces-canada.com/Products/FacesCosmetics-Makeup-Eyes-Eye-Pencil-Eye-Pencil1/FACES/Eye-Pencil/pid-1039893.aspx;
there are around 10 shades and costs around
INR 349. You can also buy it from
Medplusbeauty website here http://www.medplusbeauty.com/products/faces-long-wear-eye-pencil
Regarding the quality of these eye pencils, they are pretty
good on pigmentation and on staying power.
There are 2 different finishes here – matte and shimmery/satin.
Staying power on average is around 6-7 hours and is longer
for the satin/shimmery one rather than the matte one, which I found surprising.
Also I found that the Satin/shimmery finish pencils applied
more creamily and smoothly than the matte ones but matte shade sets faster than
the Satin type.
Matte shade also became patchy after 4-5 hours while satin
finish stayed better and longer.
Dark Green is a matte green shade that flatters fairer skin
tones better than medium to dark skin tones.
On my skin, it looks more blackish green and the color doesn’t
actually show very well.
I am okay with one, but this is not a favorite of mine out
of the 3.
Aqua blue is a bright shade, but not an intimidating bright.
If you are wary of using a bright color, start using this
over a matte color to subdue to color a bit.
This is a nice bright blue color, that is a superb color for
summer outings.
Do remember that bright eye colors go with subdued makeup
and neutral lips.
This has a very shimmery satin effect and applies beautifully.
Not an everyday color, but a really fun color for Summer and
beaches.
My fav color out the 3 shades is the Purple. I love it, its a beautiful egg plant color.
It just looks so beautiful and applies so nicely.
It can be applied dark to look more blackish purple for a daytime
wear or sheered out a bit to bring the purple tones better.
Try smudging purple against black to give a wonderful smoky
effect for a beautiful day look.
Overall, I like this range as a whole, though I would pick a
satin finish & stay clear of mattes.
Cheers!!! :)

Review & Swatches: Faces Canada Mineral Loose Powder in Sand Beige
I am so sad that this product and me are saying Bye Bye [Expiry date passed :(] but we had a good run together. Check this product at Faces website and Medplusbeauty website.
I got Faces Canada Mineral Loose Powder in Sand Beige to try out Mineral face products and to understand what the buzz was around mineral products. I chose a good one in this face powder. This is a golden warm powder that is not very silky to touch but applies and blends in beautifully.
I like the design of the jar. It has a spongy head that lets you apply the product directly to the face [not very hygienic though]. I usually don't apply the product using this sponge but if I am on a run, sometimes I do that and it is very useful in applying & buffing in the powder.
I am reviewing this against what FACES claims in their website so I can actually check my experience against what they claim:
FACES Mineral Loose Powder is an innovative non-comedogenic formulation - agree, this didnt irritate my face at any stage even when I had some serious breakouts. This was the only product that I could actually use when I had some chemical burns on my face.
which offers protection from harmful UV radiation - Dont know about that. It has no listed SPF, so I didn't skip my sunscreen when i used this
and imparts a silky, irresistible touch to facial skin. - I didn't notice any change in skin quality. The powder is not silky and it didn't feel very silky after application also.
It does not clog pores and is hypoallergenic. - Agree on hypoallergenic. Dont know about clogging pores. I didnt have any breakouts while using this.
It comes with a unique, spill-proof, easy-to-use applicator. - Agree, this was one of the best designs I have seen so far, much better than the ELF mineral powder [ check review here]
Suitable for light to medium coverage on all skin types- Agree, this is not something to displace your foundation, this is when you want a light coverage for a summer day's outing.
Overall- this is a great mineral face powder if you are looking for a light coverage daily use face powder. Keep a good kabuki with you for effective application.

Peachy Orange Blushes Anyone? Reviews and Swatches: Faces Canada Mineral Blush in Amber Rose & NYX powder blush in Cinnamon
I am reviewing 2 blushes here that would be awesome for Spring-Summer and especially beautiful for warmer skin tones. Cant wait for Winter to be over!!
I had this fixed notion in my head that blushes are always pinkish in color. So I used to stay away from any darker or warmer color shades. Then my friend send me 'Aruba' from Sleek Makeup which is a bright orange beautiful matte blush which I reviewed here. I loved it very much and it changed my perception of bright blushes. Now I am very comfortable with using even the darkest of reds:)
Coming back to these 2 blushes -
Faces Canada Mineral Blush in Amber Rose is a shimmery peachy reddish orangeish blush that looks so awesome on warm skin tones. You dont need a highlight with this blusher. The blusher is very pigmented and needs to be applied very carefully as this can go easily overboard.
Some blushes can be applied under face powder for a more subtle effect but blushes like these with shimmer in it are better applied over powder.
A nice way to use a blusher-highlighter, is to apply a layer 1st, spray a mist of water and pat it with a strong paper napkin [dont use wet wipes or cotton] and apply a thin layer again once its dry. This would give a very glossy effect to the face especially for a night event.
NYX Powder Blush in Cinnamon is bright matte orangey powder blush which is very similar to Sleek's Aruba but not as orangey as Aruba but more reddish-brownish tinted. The blush is very powdery and has a high fallout but is very silky to touch & apply.
This is again one of those blushes you have to be careful with application but it is not as scary to try as Aruba. Since it is matte, for a 1st time try, you can apply this over your liquid foundation once it is set and apply a layer of powder foundation till it looks comfortable.
One thing I love about this blush is it looks so good so easily - this is a must have blush for spring-summer. It has good lasting power especially if you build the intensity with layers. I suggest applying this over your liquid foundation, apply powder and then your pink or coral blush over it to get a perfect summer look. Apply a dewy spray or water mist to get a beautiful finish.
Both of these blushes are perfect for warm skin tones and shows up great, really brightens up face without looking clownish. I am only sad that Faces has discontinued Amber Rose but I hope to find a similar one soon.

Reviews and Swatches: Faces Canada cosmetics Mineral Lip color in shade Cafe Date 05
This is a lip color which I have never used once before chucking it out after expiry date. The reason is simple - the color washed me out completely. I couldn't even get it to work even with blot-apply-blot-apply-blot-lipgloss technique which usually works with most unflattering shades of lippies.

This is from Faces Canada cosmetics mineral line, which is discontinued now. I forgot what was the original price, guess it was around INR 300 and I got it on sale, doesn't matter now that you can buy it any more.
It is not bad formula wise but I failed to see any difference between other creamy lipsticks from Faces line and this one. This was a tad bit matte-er and creamier than Moisture rich lippy but not as creamy as Satin Matte, some where in between. This applies straight matte, no shimmer no shine. It is a peachy nude color; I find pinky and peachy nudes the hardest colors to work especially for warm uneven skin tones.
Nothing much to add as it is no longer available; however if you have this color and couldn't get it to work for you, here are 2 ways to use it:
1. Use it as a creamy blush
2. In a mixing plate, cut a small piece of the lip color. Add any shade of matte or creamy lip color at least 2-3 tones brighter. Use a spatula to blend and mix well. Warm it in microwave oven for 15secs. Mix again and keep it for 2-3mins to set. Apply with a brush.
For a herbal tint, instead of lip color add 3-4 drops of filtered beet juice or pomegranate juice.

Review and Swatches: FACES Canada Satin Matte Lipstick in shade Jazz Berry Jam
Faces is supposed to be a brand from Canada, and I saw that
they have a store in Dufferin Mall [planning to check it out]. Their products are cruelty free and not tested on animals. I
think they are more of a hit in India than in Canada. I have tried their Go chic lippies[ not a fav], Satin Matte
[Luv Luv] and their moisture rich range [Luv luv] and on the whole I think the
range is good. But I have not tried any of their newer products, so may be
if I visit Dufferin Mall, I will get something.
About the lipstick – this is a very creamy lippie…
This is a berry pink shade and to be very honest not very
flattering for my skin tone, so I don’t use this much.
However if you have non-pigmented lips or if you have a
fairer skin tone, this would be a very lovely lip shade. If you are darker skin toned, I would not suggest this for
your pink lippy collection.
Don’t get me wrong – I love berry pinks, but only if they
are in glossy format.
When in matte or creamy matte as in this case, they present
a very demure muted look which doesn’t exactly brighten an uneven skin tone.
The best way in which I use this is by blotting it twice to
give a good color to lips and then adding a bright peachy or red lip gloss to
enhance the color. A clear gloss would also do the trick. This is again one of those lipsticks that are creamy enough
to be used as a blush.
On the whole, I would recommend this color if you are fair
skinned.
Cheers!!! :)

Review and Swatches: Faces Creme Matte Gloss in shade Fiery Red
There are some products which after you use, you wish they were easily available, more shades were there and were a bit cheaper.. :) This is one such product for me. I love FACES lippies in general and trust their formulas but their glosses I havent tried much.
I got this at a random whim via Fashionandyou.com as these were on a sale and I didnt have many deep red shades. Also I'd read some reviews online which intrigued me but the words Creme/Matte/gloss didnt seem to gel well! I think a better name would be creme matte lip cream.. :)
The product is priced at Rs 399, may be available for lesser online and is available in around 10 shades.
Also the name is quite misleading. When I heard Fiery Red, I'd an image of a chilli-red color with an eye-popping effect. This is also a deep color but more magenta-ish I should think. Its a red with lotsa blue tones.
I used to have a paint palette once that had a similar color called Carmine, a deep bluish maroonish red. The problem with this color is that on applying it gives a more pinkish effect on lips which was not exactly what I was looking for.
Nevertheless this is a beautiful deep shade and really brightens my face. But this definitely is not an everyday shade as its a bit tooo bright.. :)
This is a beautiful shade, a great product. Stays for around 4+ hours easily and even when fading leaves a nice tinge on lips. A bit drying but not as bad as NYX lip creams, this doesnt settle easily on lines..I would suggest applying this with a light hand using a lip brush as lot of color comes off when you use an applicator.
I would definitely try more shades and will definitely try some nice colors espl if there is a sale. But I have not seen any peachy/corally/pinkish shades which I would love to have. Wish they would add this soon.

Review and Swatches: Faces Canada Satin Matte lipstick in shade Auburn Brown 13
Actually this is not much of a review, more like a swatch gallery to help any viewers decide on buying.. :) I love Satin matte range and so does many who has tried them..

There is something about the lush feeling of the creamy matter lip color that spreads so sweetly over lips..almost sinful.. :D

Auburn Brown is a dark coffee brown matte shade, the kind of color that reminds you of the lip shades Rachel used to wear in Friends, my fav sit-com of all time..

The color spreads wonderfully and for office wear, a single swipe is enough for 3-4 hours without eating...
This is an all time classic brown shade and ideal office wear color for fair and medium skinned beauties.
